Introducing Inkwell Whiskey

Every interaction we have with the objects in our lives creates in those objects another, deeper, more personal meaning, until eventually they become something far beyond what they began as. A snack we’ve enjoyed since childhood becomes a link to the past. A favorite sweater becomes a security blanket that comforts us from more than just the cold. A notebook becomes a portable retreat from daily life wherein we can express ourselves as loudly and earnestly as we need.
To me, a great spirit is much more than a drink; it’s an enticement to experience. It is a medium for building a moment, deepening a friendship, or starting a journey. A great spirit is a distillation of alcohol, of course, but it is also a distillation of the labor of the farmers who grew the grains that make up the mash, of the artisans who created it, of the history of the spirit itself.
For well over a decade now, I have wanted to make a spirit that would celebrate this ideal. A line of whiskeys that would be made with an eye toward what they help you express about yourself, not what drinking them will say about you. Smooth, simple, delicious, and made with heart by hand.
I call this whiskey Inkwell because that is what I want it to become for those who drink it. The bottle you reach for when you get inspired. An unassuming but essential aspect of your personal narrative. An indelible medium that you can use whenever it’s time to celebrate the end of one story, retell an old favorite , or start a new one.
Simple.
Essential.
