The image of a rosy-fingered dawn comes from Homer, the phrase stemming from The Odyssey. It conjures the image of a pink and red sunrise, a breaking day, but also refers to the goddess Dawn. What does all that have to do with our cocktail? No one knows. Brian and Arthur made this drink on accident while inventing the Bog Grove Fairy, and once Brian threw out the pretentious-sounding name, it stuck. So enjoy! Raise your glass as the sun rises in the sky.

The key ingredient here is the blackstrap bitters. The molasses, cinnamon, and nutmeg flavor and aroma perfectly counter balance the sweetness of the other ingredients. It was only after adding them into this drink on our third try that we knew we’d stumbled upon something marvelous.
